New Years Goals!

I've never been a huge fan of new years goals. In high school I would write papers on how I didn't believe in new years goals vs writing about goals and how I planned to accomplish them. I am a huge supporter of if you want to make a change then do it, no matter what time of year it is.

This year I caved and decided to join the rest of the world in setting some goals. Hopefully I wont be like the rest of the world and only work on them the first two months of the year and then give up. I mean, don't they say that the busiest time of the year for your local gyms are the very first couple months? Then it dramatically dies down as people stop pursuing their goals. 😂

On that encouraging note here are some of my goals for this year!

1. Yell less.
Honestly I feel like I yell more than I should. Sometimes, I will ask my kids nicely to do something, what feels like a million times, and I feel like they don't hear me or take me seriously until I yell. I hate that. I am hoping to be more patient and find other alternatives to yelling when my children don't listen to me.

2.Go camping
I know what you are thinking... why is this a personal goal? Well, its a personal goal because I hate camping. But, I am trying to learn to enjoy it. I am more of what you would call a glamper. the only problem is I can't afford to have a nice trailer with a nice bed mattress, a sink with running water, stove, and a shower/ toilet. (I'm not sure I'm budging on the toilet part though) But I would like to go camping once or twice this year... in a nice rattlesnake/ wolf free zone.

1. Make memories/ live in the here and now.
My kids are growing up faster than I ever imagined. My oldest is turning 8 soon. That to me is mind blowing. Being the nostalgic mother that I am, I realized that 8 is just one year short of half way to 18. Which means my daughter is almost halfway to being considered a legal adult. Which also means I am almost halfway done raising her! So with that, I want to make more memories with my kids. I want to do more. I want to get out of the house more often, go on more walks, have some adventures with the kids!  I want to say screw it to the" maybe later"/ "maybe next year" attitude. I want to stop waiting for everything to line up perfectly. I just want to go and do. My kids wont be kids forever. I want to have fun, vacation, do anything (not everything requires a lot of $) to create life long memories with my children.

2. Go to Disney Land.
This one is kind of an extension of my previous goal. My husband is already trying to talk me out of this one but I am dead set on it. Our children have never been to Disney Land and we have never been on a single vacation with just our little family. I never went to Disney Land until I was in high school. It's just not the same. As said in my previous goal, I want to create memories. I don't want to wait for all the stars to align. I want to take my children to the happiest place on earth!

1. Blog.
I want to get this blog up and going. I keep hesitating to post because I don't have my blog set up the way I would like it to be yet.  I guess that's part of the here and now / not putting things off until later idea. I am currently still designing my blog and slowly but surely its coming alone. It might not be anything fancy but it is my little piece of the internet where I can write and share my thoughts, feelings, and of course cute pictures of my kids

2. Learn to take better photos.
I just got a DSLR camera (something that I have dreamed of for years) and I would like to learn how to take great photos, you know outside of auto lol. I'm hoping to learn a little bit with some help from friends or youtube videos/ reading the manual because attending a photography class this year probably is not going to be realistic. But anything learned and any improvement is still learning and better than before!

There you go. These are my Goals for the new year! I hope you have a wonderful new year!
